Design Principles for Backyard Conservation

Design Principles for Backyard Conservation

Backyard conservation design is a process of developing practical and pleasing outdoor living spaces using native plants.  An inspiring design is usually the result of a thoughtful planning process and attention to certain details at the landscape and garden levels.  Fortunately, beautiful and bountiful designs don’t necessarily come from sweeping changes and major renovations.  Small changes like adding several plants to create unity, seasonal color or repetition go a long way to making a group of plantings look like a design that is meaningful to you, environmentally significant, doable and fun.  This booklet walks you through several design principles that help take your plan froma group of plants to a wonderfully pleasing landscape design.
